Meet Raphaelle, one of New York City’s most captivating young artists. As a singer and songwriter, Raphaelle distinguishes herself in the music scene through her expansive and unique voice, incorporating modern styles while still evoking the classic sounds of Etta James and Nina Simone.
Born in Paris, France, Raphaelle spent her formative years in America, immersing herself in the works of artists such as Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, Fleetwood Mac and Prince, as well as songwriters Diane Warren and Carol King. Drawing on them for inspiration, Raphaelle devoted her time to songwriting, cultivating her voice and style, and shaping her musicianship. With authenticity, Raphaelle builds strong connections with her listeners and sets herself apart by creating future classics, able to withstand any test of time.
With her first EP, “Postmodern,” Raphaelle cemented her position as a rising star, rapidly growing in popularity amongst platforms such as Instagram, Spotify, and Youtube. “Postmodern” has garnered over 120,000 streams on Spotify and the premiere for “No More Pillowtalk” and “Simple Things” each have 24,000 views on their respective premiers on Pigeons and Planes and Complex.
She has performed at several New York City venues including The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, and The Highline Ballroom.
Raphaelle is soon to release her sophomore album this year, collaborating with industry heavyweights such as Diane Warren, Ric Wake, James Poyser of The Roots, Dave Guy of The Dap Kings, and the Menahan Street Band.
